The surprising Milwaukee Brewers took a half game lead today in the American League West with a convincing 6-3 victory over the Oakland A's.

First baseman Frank Tepedino had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Milwaukee
Brewers topped the Oakland A's by a score of 6 to 3 at County
Stadium.

Milwaukee drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
when they scored 3 runs on 3 hits. Milwaukee rapped out 12 hits for the
afternoon.

Bill Parsons(6-6) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Ken
Sanders was credited with his 21st save. Blue Moon Odom(1-4) ended up with
the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 3
walks in 7 innings.
